Bone density testing is an accurate method of calculating a person’s bone density, structure and their risk of breaking any bones. It measures how many grams of calcium and minerals exist in each segment of the bone, and is often used to test the spine, hips and forearms.
The testing is performed using a Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) scan. It is quick, easy and painless to perform, usually taking no longer than 30 minutes. After the scan, an experienced radiographer will examine and document your results.
